There is an active Neighbourhood Watch operating in Brassington, which aims to bring neighbours together to create a strong, friendly and active community where crime and antisocial behaviour are less likely to happen. In Brassington this is second nature to many residents.
All households have been visited with crime prevention information leaflets and window stickers. Every effort is made to speak to new residents after they move in to welcome them to the village and introduce them to how the village communicates via its website, Facebook page, Parish Magazine and the Brassington Banter.
Residents can also opt to take part in a community messaging service, Derbyshire Alert (www.derbyshirealert.co.uk) where they can receive an email or text message to advise them of any incidents relevant to them.
For further information contact the Watch Co-ordinators Pat & Jan Carlin (email@example.com)
They have a great website (www.ourwatch.org.uk) that provides advice on how to take prevention measures against all types of crime.
Brassington is policed by the Tissington and Carsington Safer Neighbourhood Team based in Ashbourne. This in turn is part of the Derbyshire Dales Local Policing Unit which is one of five which form part of the North Division of Derbyshire Constabulary.
More information, including crime figures for the area, is available at www.derbyshire.police.uk
Your point of contact in respect of an actual or suspected crime is the police. If you see a crime in progress the immediately dial 999. However a non emergency number 101 is also available, as is a host of online reporting options on the derbyshire police website.
