4 ¼ miles of lanes, fields and trail

Come and enjoy the scenic hills of Brassington on a picturesque circular tour. Starting from the award winning Olde Gate Inne the route takes you out of the village through historic ridge and furrow fields onto the hills. Once on the hilltops there are delightful views of Carsington reservoir and on a clear day, the whole of southern Derbyshire. Off the hill, the route drops down into the village of Carsington before a left turn takes you up the short sharp climb back onto the top of Carsington Pastures. From there it’s under the Carsington Wind Farm and on to the High Peak Trail. The return route crosses the old lead workings and drops down the small lane back into Brassington to finish outside the pub where you can enjoy a drink and something from the barbeque.
