Going away with Brownies

Pack Holidays are a great way to have fun as a Brownie. We go away as a Pack, usually for a weekend, but sometimes longer. We pick a theme, and have a weekend such as:

  • Wild West
  • Search for a star
  • Bears
  • Olympics
  • Enchanted
  • Hogwarts

Sometimes we go to somewhere like London for a special weekend, or have a camp sleepover.

We always need permission and health forms to make sure we know about any health or other needs. The health form needs to be completed just before or at Pack Holiday (update if necessary when you arrive). We cannot accept a Brownie without their health form

We provide everyone with a list of what to bring. Depending on the holiday this usually includes things such as:

  • Your Brownie must arrive and depart in uniform.
  • All items need to be named, including towels and T-Towels
  • Bring clothes etc in a suitcase or holdall packed by your Brownie so she knows where everything is.
  • Bring a sleeping bag or duvet, pillow and single sheet for the bed.

Brownies join in the running of the house, and will have jobs during the holiday, such as cooking, washing up etc. We do lots of activities, such as games, crafts, acting, campfires, tracking, puzzles, etc, as well as going somewhere like Red House Stables, Glenbrook Activity Centre, Heights of Abraham, Matlock Bath Aquarium, Downing Street (see above), Buckingham Palace.
